Here are some ideas and topics that you can explore together with your buddy:
A. Get some (awesome) advice 😉
Projects advice - Need some advice or cross-check on that huge school project? Hit your buddy up! They might have some cool ideas
University applications - They have all been through similar university application process, so feel free to ask them any tips or tricks!
Resume check - So you finally made that first draft of your resume? Ask your buddy if they'll review it for you :)
Remember your buddy can only guide or advice you! Don't expect them to do any work for you, share their past projects or always be available (they are busy hoomans after all). And its totally up to you to agree or not with their advice, what might have worked for them, may not necessarily work for you!
B. Discover what university is really like 😏
Day in a life of the Buddy - what do college students do on a day-to-day basis? How do they manage their projects, classes and personal lives? What kind of food do they eat? How do they travel? Where do they live!
Shadowing - understand what kind of subjects are there, what sorts of projects they do and how they do it!
But at the end of the day, just remember your buddy is there voluntarily to help you! Be thankful and grateful for whatever advice they can provide you.
